My Feelings on the War in Iraq

This is my grandfather, Wiley Beardon Calvery, in his World War I uniform.  He was a veteran and served his country. I am proud of him deciding to serve his country.

This is my father Albert Gene Calvery, in his uniform he wore during the Korean War (or conflict or whatever you want to call it).  He was in the army for 14 years.  I am proud of him also deciding to serve his country.
This is my son, who is currently in the army and stationed in Iraq.  It is his 2nd tour there.  He wanted to proudly serve his county.  He signed up after 9/11.  I am proud of him deciding to serve his county.

HOWEVER-- As a daughter, granddaughter and mother of a solider I want to say my piece here.  I am VERY pro troops, I am in awe of anyone willing to serve in the military to help protect the US and serve our country.  I am very pro America, I like my country, yep it has problems and is far from perfect, and at times, ticks me off, but I am a proud American.

I am very much against the war in Iraq, this so called war is wrong.  We went there on false reasons, we seem unorganized.  We seem to be causing a lot of harm there.  I also feel that now that we invaded this country and it is wrong to just up & leave it.  I also feel it is wrong to have this "stop lawed" condition.  I also feel it is unfair how they equip our soldiers.  So where does that leave us.  I assume the folks in Iraq love their country, I mean people do love their countries and are proud or it.  If we gave them a known date we are leaving and I mean not saying next week.  But start removing our soldier, then the folks there will have to either join in stopping the terrorist or let them win.  It is their country and they need to run it their way.  If they see a goal like most people will try to help get to that goal.  I also feel money should be put in to help this country get into the 21st century, by hiring them to fix their own waterway and electric.  After all they are going to maintain it so need to have the knowledge.  As to Halliburton, well that is another piece crap but--you already figured my feeling on it.

So--I am a proud American, I am proud of the soldiers and troops.  I am very disappointed in the current administration.  I am against the war, in Iraq and I am glad folks like Cindy Sheehan, the Gold Star Mothers and their supporters speaks for me! President Bush you are supposed to be President for all of us, why do you refuse to meet anyone who disagrees with you?  What are you afraid of?

Please note this is my own personal feeling!
